My family and I frequently buy wine from this location. When I was in yesterday, I noticed the wine I like was on sale. My family also likes this wine, so I came back again today to take advantage of the price and stock up. I waited in the long line, only to be told when I got to the front that my ID could not be accepted. No reason why, just tells me "no, sorry!" I even explained that I had bought yesterday and can show my receipt. Again, he says no. I'm trying to figure out why I was refused when Im 25 and have a valid New York license. Sad to say, but this store just lost an entire family's weekly business.
Nice selection, cheap prices, happy staff. Location is a bit odd though, as it feels like the Sakers are trying to hide it from the main store.
Hi my name is John and I am a Disabled U.S. Navy Gulf War Veteran & a former Manager for P.C. Richard and Son with over 30 years of Retail experience. So I know the proper “ins and outs of proper Customer Service”. My family recently just moved to this area from Brooklyn and we are happy to be around nicer people now. My wife and I were happy to find this very nice “BIG” liquor store with great prices and lots of variety. Yesterday my wife was here to buy some liquor for the holidays. She also purchased 4 Adult Wine Juice Boxes, unfortunately they were all expired. So I can into the store this afternoon to make the exchange. When I walked in there was no line at the registers and I walked up to a cashier and asked for help. The nice cashier told me to go the last register on the left. The lady there was very nice and she told she would help me. She told me to stay here while she went to look for them to swap out. She saw I had my walker and was very nice to go retrieve the items. While she was gone it started to pick up a little bit. At this time the owner walked over to me with an attitude and a mad face on and said “what’s going on here and I’m the owner” . “ You are blocking and taking up this brand new expensive extra register which was just put in to for sales.....he started rolling his eyes and making comments in front of my kids” I said I was told to wait here while the lady went to go help me do my exchange. This owner( I failed to get his name) seemed to care less about the fact he was selling expired merchandise. Listen I’m the first to recognize it’s the day before Thanksgiving and the store would be busy, I didn’t want to go but the wife wanted them for tomorrow. The nice lady finally came back and said ....”sorry there is no more” and the owner got loud and told her just to give me my money back to get me out “ After the transaction I asked the owner to talk to me quietly down the aisle. He continued to carry on and get loud , rude, and about how I was blocking the register with my refund ! I said you mean my walker and I am a Disabled Vet ...then he said “so you are going to go down that road “......really! Is this guy kidding me!!! All I wanted was an exchange and it seems like all he cared about was getting the people out and rung up and not handle customer service issues! How sad to treat customers like this and especially United States Veterans during the holidays. I will never go back and ask all my fellow Vets to make up their own minds ! Happy Thanksgiving and this owner should be thankful he has customers that still patronize his store.
