This hospital is a risk management department's worst fear. The lack of care to the hospitalized patients is downright negligent. While there are a few nurses, doctors and caretakers that genuinely care for their patients well being (why I gave 2 stars rather than 1), the majority are overworked, uncaring and neglectful. Imagine not being able to move yourself at all, calling the nurse call button, and being completely ignored. Lying in waste, in physical pain, and no one will help you. Is this how you would want your own family members and loved ones to be treated? When you press the call button, on the rare occasion that someone actually does come, they have a standard response, "I'll be right back." This must be code for, "I answered your call but I will never be back and I simply don't care." Your IV can start gushing blood and no one will come to help. The hospital is also absolutely filthy. I'm sure it is a bacterial and viral cesspool of growth. Patients likely will contract awful infections due to this hospital's negligence. If you are able, please go elsewhere to protect your own and your loved one's health and life.
I will start by saying I have had positive experiences at this hospital. My daughter was born there and it was a fantastic experience. However, I have had a few horrid experiences, always in the ER, and tonight was one of those. Having had knee surgery last week, I have been in extreme pain today/tonight. At the advice of my doctor, I went to the ER for pain management and to check that there were no blood clots. It took forever for the PA to see me and she was extremely unsympathetic to me. While I understand and appreciate that pain medications need to be monitored, she told me that she is "stingy" with them and that they watch doctors carefully regarding this. Shouldn't the emphasis be on the patient? In addition my nurse and the PA seemed to lack communication, as neither were aware of what each were doing.
It seemed like the PA wanted to prove she was above me, instead of monitoring my situation and treating it as such.
Not sure why this place has a 2.7. Came to the ER and was admitted on Monday. Staff has been really accommodating. Actually a quiet floor for a hospital.
I live in between New Brunswick and Freehold and usually choose CentraState for my health needs, as I like the community feel of the hospital.
After my most recent experience in the ER in addition to another extremely poor experience there last year, I will be looking elsewhere.
This is always my go-to hospital for non-serious emergencies. My youngest daughter recently spent 6 days in the pediatric unit and we could not be happier with the treatment she received. The staff was so accessible and friendly. They were really on top of things and we felt as if she had one-on-one treatment. The nurses and doctors have great bed side manner. Thank you for making our little girl healthy again!
It's a very courteous hospital I had surgery there about a year ago for cancer and they care for your well-being and I do care about that patients they treat you with respect
